The University of Warsaw Biological and Chemical Research Centre is a research facility located on the “Ochota” Campus. The CNBCh UW is dedicated to scientists conducting advanced research of great scientific importance, whose results are used in the development of new technologies in the fields of energetics, analytics, pharmaceuticals, medicine, biotechnology, new materials, conservation of environment and cultural heritage. The CNBCh UW gathers the most talented young researchers, as well as experienced scientists from diverse disciplines.
The CNBCh UW is the result of the CENT III (www.cent3.uw.edu.pl) project, which consisted of two parts: construction works and the purchase of necessary research equipment. CNBCh UW building provides 21 032 m2 of floor area, including laboratories fitted with state-of-the art research equipment. The CNBCh UW project was financed by the Operational Programme Innovative Economy, Priority II. R&D Infrastructure. Measure 2.1. Support for development of research infrastructure of scientific entities. The total cost of this project is over 294 million Polish zlotys. Thanks to European Union funds, the CNBCh UW is one of the most modern research facilities in Europe.
