The University of Warsaw is the biggest Polish university with ca. 49 000 students, studying at 21 faculties and 30 divisions. University’s scholars and students achieve outstanding global success in the areas, such as,  IT sciences, archaeology, astronomy, and physics.

The University of Warsaw was established in 1816. It is here that the ingenious pianist Fryderyk Chopin studied, and that Nobel prize winners: Henryk Sienkiewicz, Menachem Begin, Czesław Miłosz, Józef Rotblat and Leonid Hurwicz obtained their education. Over the last 200 years UW has had the strong influence on intellectual and cultural life of the capital city of Poland.
